Where have I been?

Hello,

So it's been a while since I have posted. In some ways my life has changed dramatically and others it has stayed exactly the same. I will fill you in with what you have missed. My last post was on the 3rd February 2016.

On the 16th February 2016 I turned 21!

This feels so far away now because as I am writing this I am already 22. Being 21 was the best year of my life. So much amazing stuff happened! I had an American themed party complete with a New York skyline and lots of red cups. It was the perfect way to celebrate.

As for presents my parents bought me 21 gifts and we are going to New York together. However, this still hasn’t happened and you will find out why soon.

My amazing boyfriend paid for us to go to Prague! This is somewhere I have always wanted to go because it’s such a beautiful city. We did so many amazing things like a beer spa and themed pirate evening.

In May Dylan and I went to Amsterdam for a quick 2 day getaway. Honestly this is one of my favourite trips we've ever done because we did so much fun stuff and just had the best time. 2 days was not enough and there was plenty to do.

In July, I graduated from John Moores University. This wasn’t as magical as I had hoped. It was actually quite stressful and it rained all day long. But once we went for our meal with all my family I finally began to relax which was really nice.

After graduation Dylan and I flew off on a little trip to Spain to relax and chill out.

Once I had graduated I felt a little lost (I had planned to do my PGCE starting September however in January I didn’t get the ones I wanted and gave up hope.) For some reason in August I checked the UCAS website and they had places available at Edge Hill University on the course I wanted. As my application was ready I decided to apply and in a whirlwind, everything moved very quickly.

In September I started my PGCE. which was scary and amazing all at the same time. I have one more essay to hand in and I will be finished. Graduation here we come!

Another little trip away to Spain with the fam this time. I had to request the days off Uni which was a bit scary. What if the course leader said no?

On November the 7th I started my first placement at my old primary school a 5 minute walk away from my house. It was amazing.

Christmas was busy this year as I had lots of work to do and didn’t break up from school until 23rd. Dylan being the star that he is, booked for us to stay in this little Hobbit House over New Year which was perfect.

I finally finished my first placement on the 10th February.

It was very emotional and I was gutted to be leaving what felt like family.
The following week was half term and I received an email which requested my presence at university to speak to me. I knew this was a bad sign as none of my friends had. This meant only one thing. Regional placement. Luton, London or elsewhere in the country. Having only lived away from home once and not liking it this came as a massive shock to me.

After finding out it was Luton that day, which was also my birthday. Dylan and I flew to Krakow as Dylan’s present and also a birthday present to me. Unfortunately Dylan wasn’t very well while we were there but we still had a good time.

On the 13th March 2017, I set off on my journey to Luton.

Once I arrived I unpacked and eventually met my housemates and neighbours also from Edge Hill, they were all very nice and we all got on which was good. After 3 weeks we came home for 2 weeks for Easter, this made everything harder as you settled in at home again. I also got quite ill during this time which was annoying as I didn’t get to catch up with my friends. Before I knew it, it was time to head back down south. We started off with 9 people, but the undergrads had finished placement and so that left us 5. At the end of the 12 week placement I was actually quite shocked how sad I felt leaving. I built some really good friendships with the people who worked in the school and I was really going to miss lots of them.

A week and a half at home and then it was back to Spain for 12 days which brings us right to this date. With another 2 days of holiday left I’m not sure if I want to come home.

If you made it all the way down here, you need a round of applause. Thanks for reading!
