Gift ideas: Nails

So for any other Nail varnish addicts out there, I have the perfect present idea, this was the gift I gave to my friend Heather, she also has a blog, which I’ll link here. She’s your typical girly girl, loves all things pink and make-up related. So for Christmas I made her this bundle of the perfect nail kit (well in my opinion anyway). I know she love Barry M Nail Varnish’s, so I included 4 different shades, a glass nail file, a nail buffer and a lush bath bomb (a Christmas one because yano it’s Christmas). Glass Nail files are very beneficial to invest in, if you take care of it they should last about 25 years (how insane?!) and the 4 different colours I bought were:

·         Instant Nail effects foil: Gold
·         Magnetic Blue Nail Paint
·         Limited edition: Pink
·         Limited edition: Yellow

I decided to pick limited edition ones because I thought there would be less chance she’d have them (logic!).
The bath bomb I picked was the melting snowman because not only is it really cute, it has lots of lovely oils built in meaning it leaves you soft and moisturised, ready for a pamper night.

I put this all in a really cute make-up bag just to make it look really presentable and pretty. These kinds of gifts are great for girls who love beauty, they can be personalised and you can spend as little as £5 pounds by going pound world or you can spend up to £100 depending on how much you love that person ;) and it’s also great because you can pick bits up throughout the year.

I’ll show you more ideas soon!

My resolutions for 2014!

Here are my resolutions:

Lose weight/Get fitter - I don't mind being fat, but when I don't like the selection of fat clothes there's a problem. I just want to be happier in my own skin and know I look half decent in some of clothes I'd like to wear. I got a bicycle for Christmas so I'll be biking round Chester hoping this will help me get fitter .. even if I just use it to nip the shop or whatever.

Be more frugal  - I waste sooo much money and this is something I'd like to change, I'm hoping to go out for tea less so I'm hoping this will help save money and I need to be more strict with myself when I go shopping, and ask myself 'Do I need this?'

Keep up to date with Uni work and Blogging - I love blogging so I want to keep going with it, I'd like to make a schedule, but I know I don't work well with schedules! And I hate leaving my work last minute so I want to be prepared and have my work done earlier.

Every year I say I want to lose weight but this year I have my family to help, and I live on my own at Uni so it's completely down to me what I'm going to eat.

Drink less - I might quit drinking altogether, I don't really enjoy it.

Worry less -  I'm a worrier, and I'd like to stop.

What are your resolutions?

What's in my bag!

After I did my handbag essentials I realised I should have probably just done a what’s in my bag post. So here it is:

My bag is from Faith at Debenhams, and I’m not going to look at the price because it was a present for Christmas off my Mum.

This bag has 3 seperate sections, in the back pocket I keep my essentials in a pink make-up bag which you can see in more detail here.
Inside the front section I keep my notebook and my new Swarovski pen, along with a Telford leaflet and a receipt.

So this just leaves the middle section:

The other handbag essentials:
My keys
My purse (I bought this with gift vouchers yesterday from River Island for £15)
My phone (which rarely stays in my bag.)

This is the uncut version, so I’m going to show you the crap I have acquired so far
Baby lips in cherry me, Blistex lip balm in raspberry lemonade and orange mango blast (that’s 4 lip balms so far!)
A box of paracetamol
My payslip and my friend’s payslip (I’m taking in to her)
A hairbrush and bobble
And my Pandora bracelet in the side pocket

Bare in mind this is a new bag, so I’ve kept it quite neat so far, but we will see how I carry on.

Early birthday present!

Yesterday, I went to Tesco with my Mum and she bought me a NEW CAMERA! I'm allowed to use it now, so I'm hoping the quality of my pictures will improve over the next few weeks when I get used to using it.
The camera I picked is the Nikon Coolpix S3500 in red. It has:

  • 20 megapixels
  • 7x optical zoom
  • 4x digital zoom
  • 26mm wide angle lens
  • 2.7in LCD screen
  • 720p high definition video capture
  • self timer
  • built-in flash

I can't wait to play with my new gadget and figure out how to take more professional pictures!
