Lush Review: Fizzbanger

So this one is one of the regular sized ones, and costs £3.25. You may be unimpressed with the boring mellow yellow colour, but I promise you now, try this one! As the outer yellow layer froths and dissolves, it turns to a blue and green fizz. The excitement of colour is followed by a lovely spicy, warm and fruity scent and the crackling of popping candy . The oils within are meant to produce a calm sensation, a feeling of joy and release of depression.

Would I repurchase? Yes! I love the multi-coloured ones and the ones that have things inside, this one had a small biodegradable piece of paper that said bang on!

I ripped the corner off. Oops.

A very sad loss

I haven't posted this week because my mind has been on lots of different things. One in particular:

My friend Paige, passed away. This came as a huge shock to everyone, especially to me.

I hadn't spoke to her in few months, with everything going on, like moving away from home for Uni, exams and working, with this thought came guilt. I miss her so much already, more than I would ever have imagined.

I have many fond memories of Paige, but there are a few that stand out above the rest. Between birthdays, prom, parties and sleepovers, I thought I'd share some of my favourite photos with the world.

I look discusting, but she just looks beauitful.
Prom  - She's wearing a wedding dress <3

One of the best sleepovers we've ever had.

I love you forever and always!
Sleep tight up there Paige!
Goodnight x

Project sample

I have decided to take on project sample! This is me just forcing myself to use up all those little samples I have floating about, I’m going to use the little bits stuck at the end of the bottle that either sits there for ages or you just forget about. I want to de-clutter my bathroom (and my life for that matter) and I’m planning on not buying anything in the next couple of weeks. I just got my student loan and I worked out that after I paid my rent I have about £25 a week. This does not amuse me.

So if I use up the stuff I have I won’t need to buy new stuff and I still get the pleasure of reviewing stuff. I’ll allow myself to buy anything essential like toothpaste or deodorant, but I got a few bits like that for Christmas off Santa ;)

I’ll try and keep you updated with things I like and don’t like, and any empties. It's a bit like project pan .. where you pick 20 products to finish except with sample and things I'm already done with (so I'm sort of cheating ;). )

P.S. I have some make - up I want to finish that I've hit pan on but they're not worth photographing.

2013 - My beauty faves!

Here are the products that have really impressed me this year, so lets get started:

Haircare

Goody double-wear headbands - These headbands by Goody have been my saviour of the year!!! I wear them almost everyday a pack comes with a silver and a gold, they're basically just a band of elastic with a piece of hardware at the top and they are meant to be multi-products, you can wear them as necklaces or headbands, but I've never worn them as a necklace, they are usually £3.99 and are sometimes on offer for 99p so snatch them up when they are (I just checked the Boots website which is where I bought them from, and they are no longer on there, they haven't even got the newer version which has little balls on but I don't like them that much, not sure if they've stop making them! :( )! The bobbles however are copies of the Goody ones and I got mine from Primark for £1.99 for 10 which I didn't think was too bad, I don't wear these as much as the headbands though.

Batiste - This has been my other saviour this year, especially when I get up late for classes, I spray this in my hair and I'm good to go (after I've thrown my headband in of course) and you can get this for £1.00 from home bargains!

Healthy sexy hair, soy tri wheat leave in conditioner - this has been a  joy to use this year, I've just finished this and can't wait to repurchase again. It costs about £9.00 but it lasts ages!

Infecto pure coconut conditioner - ahhh-mazzinnggg! For 1.99 this is the best conditioner I've ever used, it contains coconut oil which is very beneficial for the hair and smells lovely which is odd considering I don't like coconut.

Bodycare

Body Shop, Body Butters - Ermmagerd! These are beautiful and at £13 they would have to be for me! But don't worry, I didn't pay that I paid £5, considering I obviously have nothing better to do with my time I just stalk the shops waiting for sales, but that's okay because you get amazing deals like this!

Lush, Snow fairy - You may be thinking, Sarah this is a limited edition Christmas shower gel, yes you're correct but once again I am that sad that I bought enough to last me the whole year, and this is proved by the label peeling off my last bottle! You can only buy this between October and December for £3.50 -10.95.

Soap and Glory - In general I love this brand and it's not massively expensive but it ain't cheap, they do excellent Christmas sets though. This year I've loved the breakfast scrub and Clean on me, they're huge and I'm on my second of both and nearly onto my third scrub. It's usually on 3 for 2 at Boots.

Sanctuary Intensive Rescue Heel Balm - This stuff is beyond amazing, it leaves your feet silky smooth if you put loads of with fluffy bed socks it works like a dream! You can get for about £7.50 at Boots but it is so worth it.

Fragrance

My two stand out perfumes this year have been Ralph Lauren number 2 and Vera Wang Lovestruck for the 30ml you can get the Ralph Lauren for £25 and the Vera Wang for £28.

Ralph Lauren is very sweet and fruity. It is perfect for the summer and is what I wore for most of the year!

Lovestruck is still very sweet but with more vanilla and warmer scents too, I like to wear this in the winter.

I hardly have any left of either of these perfumes so hint hint ;) anyone want to buy me some more? ;)

Make-up

Lush colour supplement in Light pink - at £8.95 this isn't the cheapest and runs on parallel with high-street foundations, I just prefer this because it is lighter coverage and I feel like because it's natural and organic it has more skincare benefits than a normal foundation (I could be wrong but it makes me feel better).

Collection lasting perfection concealer in fair 1 - Everyone raves about the coverage of this and at £4.19, you can understand why!

Bourjois Chocolate bronzer in 51 - this has been great this year, it's not muddy and it's great because it's not too dark either, you can get this from about £6.00.

Wet n Wild color Icon blushes on Heather silk and Mellow wine - These are amazing!!! For the price I paid these have amazing pigmentation the only down side is that you can't buy them in the UK, so if I go to the US any time soon I will definitely pick more colours up!

Rimmel Wake me up highlighter in 002 and 004  - I seen these in boots and didn't think anything of them, but when I was strolling through pound world, the name Rimmel grabbed my eyes and for a pound I couldn't leave them so I picked them up and I couldn't be more surprised with how lovely they are, they have the perfect amount of shimmer. They're even better in summer time but in the UK we don't get summer so I will make do and use them all year round!

Cover Girl Clump Crusher - I think this is possibly my favourite mascara I've ever used! But you can't buy this in England, however rumour has it that Max Factor is the same company and if you compare product they are very similar. I can't wait to try the 'clump defy' by Max Factor to see if creates the same magic for me. I bought this a while ago so I'm not sure of the price.

Benefit Bad Gal Lash -  this is only a sample but i loved it non the less. It gave me lovely lash but the price tag throws me off on this one, especially when Boots has some great finds for much cheaper, it pains me that they can charge so much and then you have brands that charge a £1.

Revlon just bitten kissable balm stains -  Oh how I love these pencil lip stick/balms! They're definitely one of my favourites of the year. However there are so many different brands now that have there own. I have tried the Rimmel colour rush as well which is the red featured in the picture and they all do the same job! I'm not a huge fan of the mint smell, I think I'd prefer something a little more vanilla-ie and sweeter. They all vary in price and watch out for offers, currently Revlon is 2 for £10 at Boots. I would really like to try the Soap and Glory ones as well and many a few others so I can compare them more.

Maybelline Baby Lips - The Cherry one! This year this is what I have worn the most, on no make-up days, nights out, running to class. Anytime, Anywhere. And for under £3 it is my best bargain of the year!

Blistex Flavoured lip balms - These are more of a recent find, but I couldn't leave them out! I love these so much! I know they're good for my lips and they taste amazing! I want more...

Nails

Favourite Nail Polishes of the year have been Essie and Deborah Lippmann. They're both amazing quality and super expensive for just a nail polish but if you read my other post which you can find here, you can get them cheaper. Sometimes you do pay for quality, but not always I'm working on finding dupes for an upcoming post!

Tools

Of course I'm about to mention these:
Bdellium tools
Mac 125
Real Techniques Blending sponge

They're all amazing! The brushes are worth the investment and the sponge makes applying foundation so simple!I don't have much more to say, they're good tools that work well for me. :)

So that's my 2013 beauty favourites of the year! What are yours?

Lush review: Think Pink

So this one is on the small side, it’s a pink ball topped with 3 little flowers, and comes at the very affordable price of £2.50. It is made up of Tonka and vanilla, and to me this just means it smells very sweet and yummy! This is the first time I tried this bath ballistic and I was very pleasantly surprised, after you pop it in the water the flowers pop off and the pink starts to fizz. And this is when the magic begins tiny little pink confetti hearts appear and fill the bathtub!

Would I repurchase? Yes for £2.50 you can’t go wrong, I love the ones that have a bit of action!

tiny confetti hearts!

A trip to Telford - a blast from the past!

So last weekend Dylan and I ventured down to Telford because I wanted to take him to somewhere I went a lot as a child, so as part of his Christmas I booked for the two of us to go and stay in Telford and visit the working museum. It is basically a replica of an old Victorian town, we snapped a few photographs, so I’ll just include those now.

This is old style money, you can change your own money into old money so you can spend it or either keep it. The first it a fathering, the second is a half penny, the third is a penny and the fourth is a threepence. It's really fun trying to wrap your head around it and get used to the change!

This is the main street where you enter, the first building is the bank and then on the end is the chemist, I was very tempted to buy soap and lip balm but I had to stop myself because I really don't need any more.

This street leads off the main street and this is where the sweet shop, fish and chip shop, dress maker and post office are. I bought a newspaper but it got ruined on the way home and unfortunately we didn't snap any pictures of our sweets or chips.

We loved these old fashioned signs for Cadburys, Colmans, Bovril and Loads more!

This is the Doctor's house and you can go inside and meet him and his maiden helper. When we arrived the Doctor was outside shovelling coal, how cool and realistic?

We went to a lesson in the school at 12 and the head master was so realistic (and scary). We had to use chalk boards and do the 4x table, the head master picked on adults and rewarded children who gave the correct answers, he even went round and shouted at the girls who had nail varnish on (and luckily that day I didn't hehe). He was a very good actor and we were very impressed.

The best bit of the day for me was definitely the food we got to eat, we ate chips (which weren't that special), freshly baked bread and biscuits, old style sweets and drinks!

This curiosity cola was delicious, it was like regular cola with a hint of ginger, I also tried Victorian lemonade but that wasn't as tasty in my opinion. I didn't get chance to photograph anything else before we ate it. Sorry!

I apologise for the quality of the pictures, I wasn't very prepared haha.
